Symptom

429 keeps coming back, even after waiting.

Cause

OpenAI uses 429 for spend, credit and quota errors as well as for rate limits. Retrying billing, spend or quota errors will not restore access.

Fix

Read error.code in the body. For credit, quota or spend errors, change the account limits instead of retrying.
