incomplete_resultstotal_countYou use GitHub search to enumerate all matches.
Results stop at 1,000, or incomplete_results is true.
The search API provides up to 1,000 results per search, and a query that exceeds the time limit returns the matches found so far with incomplete_results set to true.
Narrow the query (date ranges, qualifiers) and split it into several searches. Check incomplete_results on every response.
curl -s -H "Authorization: Bearer $GITHUB_TOKEN" "https://api.github.com/search/repositories?q=QUERY&per_page=100" | python3 -c "import sys,json; d=json.load(sys.stdin); print(d['total_count'], d['incomplete_results'])"
If incomplete_results is true or total_count is over 1000, split the query.
